The CMS experiment is located at Point 5 of the Large Hadron Collider, in France in the Ain department (01), “Auvergne Rhône-Alpes” region.
Located on the territory of the town of Cessy (01071), Point 5 is surrounded by: at North, the town of Gex, at East, the towns of Sauverny and Grilly, at South, the towns of Segny and Versonnex, at West, the town of Echenevex The population of Cessy is around 4817 inhabitants (ref. INSEE 2015).
The unique access to Point 5 – CMS is possible via the departmental road D15g.
