All Web-based courses are found on LMS (Learning Management System).

– Emergency evacuation (online)
– Radiation protection – Awareness (online)
– Security – Awareness (online)
– CERN – LHC Large Experiments (online)
– CMS – Surface and Underground Area (online)

CMS underground

– Safety at CERN (online)
– Emergency evacuation (online)
– Radiation protection – awareness (online)
– Security – Awareness (online)
– CERN – LHC Large Experiments (online)
– CMS – Surface and Underground Area (online)
– Self-Rescue Mask (classroom)
– Radiation Protection – Supervised Area (online – if you need to work in controlled radiation area, the classroom training course is mandatory)

Please note, according to activities performed or areas to be accessed, or roles/responsibilities covered within CMS, additional training might be mandatory and required.

Other Relevant Safety Courses

  • Register to the First responders “Life-Saving Actions” training at CERN (3h): this course is advised to all CERN Members of Personnel.
  • Register to the First Aid – SST training at CERN (14h): This course gives additional first aid knowledge and is targeting specific audience. Please contact cms-safety@cern.ch to get more information.
  • Register for the Fire Extinguisher course at CERN (2h): this course is open to all CERN Members of Personnel.

Radiation Protection Course

The “radiation protection” training course is mandatory for all people who need a personal dosimeter:

  • For accessing the Supervised Radiation Areas, the course on LMS is sufficient (around 30 min. online).
  • For accessing the Controlled Radiation Areas, enrollment on LMS is compulsory at the following links (for CERN members of personnel): English / French (1-day classroom course)
  • For contractors, please use this link: French only
