Who are we?

CMS Safety is supporting the Safety of all personnel MPE, MPA, contractors and visitors involved in the CMS experiment, across every associated activity and facility at CERN including LHC Point 5, Meyrin and Prévessin.

The CMS Safety Office supports the safe design, installation, operation and maintenance of the CMS Experiment throughout its entire lifecycle.

Working closely with the CMS Technical Coordination, detector teams, CERN support groups and the CERN HSE Department, the office provides guidance and oversight to ensure that all CMS activities are planned, executed and concluded safely, in compliance with CERN Safety Policy, CERN Safety Rules and applicable regulations, and CERN Safety Objectives.

Our mission is to protect people, the environment and the experiment by promoting a proactive safety culture, supporting risk-informed decision making, and continuously improving the Safety Management System.

What does the CMS Safety Office (LEXGIMOS Office) do?
