CERN visitors with dosimeter
For CERN visitors who already have a personal dosimeter/token
- Create and fill an IMPACT activity of the type: “professional visit”
- Choose the precise locations (level…) of your visit. If you are too vague, it may include a controlled area, which will require RP approval.
- Enter all your visitors in the “Who?” section.
- Select “Grant extraordinary access” for all visitors who already have a personal dosimeter/token
- Submit the activity, which will be signed by the facility coordinator and Visits Safety Officer (VSO).
- Once the IMPACT is approved and the “Grant access” checkbox is checked (usually takes ~one hour after the IMPACT is approved – working hours), the visitors can enter normally the access points selected in IMPACT with their personal dosimeter/token without requiring action from the CMS technical shifter.
- It is the escort’s responsibility to make sure the IMPACT activity is valid and includes all people in the group. If you need to edit the list of people in IMPACT after it is submitted, ask the VSO.
- Use regular (white) helmets. 30 are available on demand, ask the technical shifter in the CMS control room.
- If you need to go to an RP area with visitors who don’t have dosimeter, wear an operational dosimeter (escort only), and link it to your IMPACT activity.
