CERN visitors without dosimeter
For CERN visitors who don't have personal dosimeter/token
- Create and fill an IMPACT activity of the type: “professional visit”
- Select the precise locations (level…) of your visit. If you are too general, it may include a controlled area, which will require RP approval.
- Enter all your visitors in the “Who?” section.
- Select “Grant extraordinary access & token” for all visitors who don’t have a personal dosimeter/token
- Submit the activity, which will be signed by the facility coordinator and Visits Safety Officer (VSO).
- Once the IMPACT is approved you have two options to get access tokens:
- the visitors can pass by the registration service (building 55, Meyrin) to pick up their access token which will let them enter normally the access points selected in IMPACT without requiring action from the CMS technical shifter
- If option a. is not possible, they can give the IMPACT activity number to the shifter who will check it and give them tokens. The shifter will need to bypass the biometry check(s).
- It is the escort’s responsibility to make sure the IMPACT activity is valid and includes all people in the group. If you need to edit the list of people in IMPACT after it is submitted, ask the VSO.
- Use regular white helmets. 30 are available on demand, ask the technical shifter in the CMS control room.
- If you need to go to an RP area, wear an operational dosimeter, available on the technical shifter’s desk (escort only), and activate it with your IMPACT activity.
